Our complete Damascus collection.

This is our full Damascus range in one set: four blades, each with its own role, plus the whetstone to keep them sharp. It’s built for the cook who wants the best of our range on their bench, and it’s a showpiece as much as a working set.

The Honshu Cleaver: precision slicing. Lighter and slimmer than a traditional cleaver, it’s made for thin, even slices of meat and fish and neat portioning. The octagonal stabilised-wood handle adds a bold splash of colour.

The Shinobi Cleaver: Asian-style prep. Its full cleaver profile is made for slicing meat thinly for stir-fries, julienning vegetables and sweeping everything from board to wok, all in a sleek, understated design.

The Kazeblade Chef’s Knife: everyday work. A gentle curve lets it rock smoothly through a cut, making easy work of dicing onions and capsicum or slicing chicken and steak. Its rippling Damascus pattern takes its inspiration from the wind.

The Kuroblade Chef’s Knife: finishing touches. Dark steel and a vivid marbled resin handle in blue, red and green. Its balanced curve and fine edge suit slicing ripe tomatoes, finely dicing shallots and preparing garnishes.

The Whetstone: keeping them sharp. A hard Damascus edge deserves proper care. A whetstone is the right tool for maintaining these blades, so they keep cutting the way they did on day one.

Every blade shares the same 67-layer Damascus construction and hard 9Cr18MoV core, so the set looks and performs as a matched collection.

In the box: Honshu Cleaver, Shinobi Cleaver, Kazeblade Chef’s Knife, Kuroblade Chef’s Knife and Whetstone Knife Sharpener. Sheaths are not included. The Honshu and Kuroblade handles are unique, and their colours may differ from those pictured.

Blade Steel: 67-Layer Damascus, 9Cr18MoV Core, 61 HRC (all four blades)

Care Instructions

To keep your Takumi blade in top condition:

  • Hand wash only. Use warm water and mild soap. Never put it in the dishwasher.
  • Dry straight away. Even stainless steel can spot or rust if it’s left wet, so towel-dry the blade as soon as you’ve washed it.
  • Care for the handle. Don’t soak the handle or leave it sitting in water, as moisture can damage wood and loosen fittings over time. Dry it along with the blade.
  • Cut cleanly. Not designed for bone or frozen food. Avoid twisting or prying with the blade, which can chip the edge.
  • Use the right board. Wood or plastic boards protect the edge; glass and stone dull it quickly.
  • Store and sharpen. Keep it in a knife block, on a magnetic strip or in its sheath once fully dry, and sharpen on a whetstone for the best edge.
  • Oil before storing. For longer storage, wipe on a light coat of camellia or food-grade mineral oil. Avoid cooking oils, which can turn sticky.
